MOVEit Damage Piling Up - Augur Provided 360 Days Patient Zero Protection
By:
MOVEit continues to make headlines as the real impact of the vulnerability starts to be known.
In a recent Security Week post that discusses research by security researcher Brett Callow the current count of organizations known to be impacted has topped 347 including Honeywell, Siemens, Emerson, Netscout, Shutterfly and 58 educational institutions in the US. According to Callow, more than 18.6 million individuals have had their personal information compromised.
Another post on Cybersecurity Hub also names accounting giants PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (EY) as well as Health Service Ireland (HSE), and European payroll services provider Zellis. Other known victims include Sony, Shell and the US Energy Department.
Augur Predicted More Than 100 MOVEit IPs
MOVEit is rapidly becoming one of the most serious supply chain hacks to date. And while many organizations are scrambling to understand their exposure, the news is much better for Augur subscribers. As threat intel companies started sharing MOVEit research our tracking indicates that Augur predicted more than 100 IPs that are attributed to Cl0p and the MOVEit vulnerability.
360 Days of Patient Zero Protection
Augur provided subscribers with an average of more than 360 days of advance protection against critical elements of the MOVEit threat infrastructure - ensuring Augur users don’t become Patient Zero (or even Patient 100) for this emerging threat.
Augur Predictive Intelligence is Your Early Warning System
Augur is your best early warning system and your insurance policy against novel threats.
Our smart behavioral prediction models identify and group threat actors based on patterns of activity. The platform can then predict novel attacks up to 50 days out. At the time of prediction, these predictions are often +-90% unique compared to other leading threat data sources.
MOVEit isn’t the only novel threat we’ve predicted. Augur predicted major elements of the Solar Winds, Log4JShell, Colonial Pipeline and ProxyNotShell hacks (to name just a few) months ahead of first reports.
